Enrique Iglesias Featured In LA Yoga Magazine  0

I WILL NEVER FORGET THE FIRST TIME I met Enrique Iglesias. His manager, Fernando, introduced us when I was working for The Firm, one of the most powerful management agencies in Hollywood. Enrique’s good looks and charm took my breath away when he immediately turned around and hugged me. He was one of our clients and we were about to release his new album. I was excited to be on the management team helping to oversee his US radio campaign. The time I spent working with Enrique was some of the most fun of my career so far. Together, Fernando and Enrique were beyond hilarious and they were the biggest pranksters I’ve ever met. I spent several overnight plane flights with them, sleeping with one eye open with my cell phone under lock and key. You can never be too careful when they are around! I have some classic stories about working with him and still find myself laughing at the memories.

Enrique is a global superstar, having sold more than 100 million albums worldwide. He is a multi-platinum selling artist in almost every country. In the U.S., he has a total of 69 #1 songs including 24 #1 singles on the Billboard Latin Songs Chart and 11 #1 singles on the Dance Club Chart. This rating beat out Michael Jackson for the most #1 singles on the Dance chart in Billboard history. His new album will be available in March and his new hit single “Heart Attack” is currently climbing the radio charts and available on iTunes.

Enrique lives an active lifestyle and loves playing sports, surfing, and swimming in the ocean (he conveniently has a house in Miami). He told me, “I actually don’t have a specific routine. I mostly do push-ups and bench presses when I am at home. When I am on the road, I go to the gym to exercise. My shows are very active and provide a lot of cardio exercise.” Enrique adds, “The main thing I believe in is eating healthy and playing sports to be active. Do something you enjoy, even a swim in the ocean.” I know his favorite food is spaghetti with bolognese sauce. It’s filling and packed with nutrients, especially in the following vegetarian version.

BIG SEAN-Born To Be Famous  0

Big Sean webSome people are destined to be superstars. It’s part of their DNA; you feel it. Having spent most of my life in the music business, I have been fortunate to meet many people with this quality as I work with some of the biggest artists in the world and help break new talent.

I met the talented and incredibly charming Big Sean a few years ago, and he has since been one of my favorite hip hop artists.  He started rapping when he was twelve years old, and by high school, he was winning competitions. A chance encounter with Kanye West, who agreed to hear the teenager freestyle, catapulted him into the big leagues. His 2011 debut album, Finally Famous, entered the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 –  his single, My Last, featuring Chris Brown, was a #1 smash!  He has also been featured on Justin Bieber’s As Long As You Love Me and several other recent radio hits. Big Sean’s career has exploded over the last two years, and so has his social media presence: he has 3.2 million Facebook fans, 4.2 million Twitter followers, one million Instagram followers, over 50 million views on YouTube, and more than 400 million views on Vevo. Big Sean just released his new single, Beware, featuring Lil Wayne and Jhene Aiko, to rave reviews. It is the first single off his new album, Hall Of Fame, which was released on August 27.

Big Sean has been a featured guest on my KIIS-FM interview series, Rockstar Health & Fitness Extra, and we have had several conversations about his healthy secrets. He had a great start on the health bandwagon from his mom. I met her at The Grammys; she is beautiful and lives a very healthy lifestyle. She taught him at a young age about superfoods, vitamins, and working out. He continues to follow her advice by taking plenty of vitamins, enzymes, probiotics, fish oil, and other supplements. As for working out, boxing is his favorite way to keep in shape; being in the boxing ring with his trainer helps to develop more endurance for his performances, especially when touring.

“I try to work out as much as possible, although sometimes it is difficult with my hectic schedule. But whenever I do, I function better, which makes life better,” explains Big Sean.

Big Sean also mixes in some weight training, and when he’s traveling, his high energy performances provide additional cardio exercise. He only eats organic food, and his favorite healthy vegetarian meal is a salad with organic greens and eggs. This is his favorite quick and easy recipe:

  • Chop up some organic romaine lettuce, tomato, red peppers, and asparagus.
  • Add a splash of balsamic vinaigrette dressing, and mix.
  • Top the salad with a chopped hard-boiled egg. (Non vegetarians: Add sliced warm grilled organic chicken, if you desire.)
  • Serve.

Lori & Big SeanBe sure to catch Big Sean on the road this year promoting his new album, Hall of Fame. The album is a perfect addition to your workout playlist and is available on iTunes, along with his single, Beware. The Saturdays Inside Secrets On Looking & Eating Their Best  0

The Saturdays are an absolute blast to hang out with!! We had plenty of laughs the Saturday afternoon (yes, I was w/ The Saturdays on Saturday) we spent together at the House of Rock in Santa Monica. They are big stars in the UK with 11 Top 10 singles, sold out arena tour, on the cover of many magazines and have a new TV show on E! Entertainment, “Chasing The Saturdays.” Their TV show is about the journey trying to take their UK success and cross it over to the US.

The best part of filming their episode was our “kitchen mishap.”  Notice in the kitchen segment that I am laughing every time I talk about the juice…. and I have a watchful eye on the blender.  Continue to watch all the way through to the end of the credits to see what happened.  You will also learn a new dance move the girls showed me in the fitness segment.  Be sure and get their new single What About Us on iTunes.

Enjoy The Saturdays healthy secrets (and don’t forget to watch the very end for a good laugh).
